Brindlewick Tidelight Cooperative
The Brindlewick Tidelight Cooperative builds tide-charged lanterns by hand in a former rope-walk on Cobbler's Mole, at the northern end of Saltquorry Harbour. Every lantern we sell stores energy from the rise and fall of the harbour water in a small float-and-coil charger, and gives it back as a warm, steady light through the night.
We are owned by the people who work here. The cooperative has thirty-one member-owners today: lampwrights, glass-cutters, coil-winders, a tide engineer and a treasurer who insists on reading every invoice aloud at the monthly meeting.
